Additional Scripture: Psalm 147:1-11

1. How would you answer the question, “What must I do to be saved?”
2. In the time of Jesus, money was not only considered proof of God’s blessings for a righteous life, but also a necessary element in obtaining righteousness. It took money to perform all the sacrifices, to maintain all the cleansing rituals and to have the free time to spend in prayer and in the synagogue. So what all was Jesus asking the young man to give up, beyond the comfortable life provided by wealth?
3. Why would the disciples be concerned that it was difficult for the wealthy to enter the kingdom of God? What did they think it meant for them?
4. What does it mean for us that for God, all things are possible?
5. What has God asked you to give up in order to follow Jesus?
